How to Improve Wi-Fi Signal Strength?

Steps to Boost Your Wi-Fi Strength:

  1. Disconnect your router for 30 seconds and then reconnect it.
  2. Relocate your router to an open area if it is currently inside furniture or cabinets.
  3. Ensure the router and camera are in close proximity to each other.
  4. Ensure a direct line of sight between the router and the camera.
  5. Move or unplug electronic devices that may be blocking the connection.
  6. Connect PCs, TVs, and gaming consoles to an ethernet connection.
  7. Switch other devices to a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network, while keeping security devices on the 2.4 GHz network.
  8. Remove any unused internet devices from your Wi-Fi network.
  9. Check your router manual to see if you can change to alternative channels (1, 6, or 11 are recommended).
  10. Consider installing a Wi-Fi extender between the router and the camera.
  11. (Note: Wi-Fi connection only affects cameras and base stations. Sensors communicate via radio frequency and installing an extender will not impact the connection strength or your sensors).
  12. For more information on Wi-Fi extenders, chat with a live representative or call our toll-free number at 1-800-467-2337.
  13. Upgrade your current router if necessary. Older routers may not support modern devices.

14. Contact your internet service provider for options.

15. Reduce the camera's video resolution by visiting the camera settings page.
